People Want Voice to Be Heard

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

Voice to be Heard

We have cell phones, email, PDAs, hand held computers, iPods, text messaging, we are more able than at any other time in our history to stay connected and communicate with each other and feel more than at any other point in the history of the world that we are never really heard.

The fact is that there is no right or wrong subject to blog about and if you are passionate about something that is probably the best thing for you to blog about.

We live in a world that is becoming more and more disconnected and people are going ten thousand directions, families are getting lost in the shuffle, and it is very likely that a person can feel so terribly alone in a room of ten thousand.

Chances are if you feel you have something worth saying, there is someone out there, who is willing to listen to what you have to say.

However, if you want to be heard this is a great way to be heard by many audiences that may not have gotten the message you wish to share otherwise.

It seems silly that perfect strangers are often the people more likely to really hear what we have to say than those who are closest to us.

You can spread your message, have your say, and it is quite likely that people will respond to what you have to say and either share your opinion or disagree rather prolifically.

While it is quite possible to begin a blog and write daily and with dedication in hopes that someone will hear your message and begin a dialog, it is much better to be proactive in the generation of traffic to your blog.

You will find that there are blogs on as many different topics as there are moods. If you're wondering why people blog in today's society there are as many answers as there are people.

Building Link Popularity with Inbound Links

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

Advantages of Building Link Popularity

By Cliff Posey

This article discusses the importance of building link popularity with inbound links. Also included in the contents are the pros and cons of using link building directory submission services vs. link building by submitting to article directories

If you want to increase your website’s rankings in the search engines, you will need to use inbound links, also known as backlinks to create link popularity. To do this, you can use link building directory submission services or promote link building by submitting to article directories manually.

While there are pros and cons to each method of creating inbound links, you will find that using link building directory submission services is very different than promoting link building by submitting to article directories.

Whichever way you decide to do it, the necessity of creating inbound links cannot be ignored. Link popularity is crucial for search engine rankings. Search engine bots automatically assume that the more backlinks there are pointing to a particular website, the more popular and valuable the website is. While this idea works in theory, it allows for the system to be easily manipulated by savvy web developers who build their own link popularity using link building directory submission services or by taking the more hands on route of link building by submitting to article directories manually.

Pros and Cons of Using Link Building Directory Submission Services

Link building directories are categorized lists of links from various places around the web. There are many different directories out there and they all offer different services at different prices.

There are several pros and cons to using these link building directory submission services to create backlinks.
Pros

Link building directory submission services are easy to find. They are everywhere on the web.
Most submission services are free or no cost.
These services usually offer quality, traffic-building inbound links.
Smaller submission services may not be very beneficial.

Cons

Link building directory submission services have very different processes.
Larger services sometimes charge significant fees and may be hard to get access to.
Free listings can take anywhere from a week to a month to get added to a directory, and may never be added at all.
Pros and Cons of Promoting Link Building by Submitting to Article Directories Manually

Link building by submitting to article directories is another easy way to build links. Article directories contain informational articles for Internet readers. These directories can be a powerful method of getting quality inbound links.

If you decide to use this method, you will want to submit articles to as many different article directories as possible. In general, it is better to submit a different article to each directory, but if you have a really good piece, you can spread the same article to multiple sites.

Here are the pros and cons of promoting link building by submitting to article directories.

Pros

Most Internet marketers consider promoting link building by submitting to article directories one of the best Internet marketing strategies around.
Search engines love backlinks from content rich pages, such as article pages.
Most article directories are free to submit to.
There are article submission services and software programs that can make the submissions for you.

Cons

Link building by submitting to article directories can be time consuming if you write your own articles and make submissions manually.
Software programs can be inaccurate and aren’t good at following article directory guidelines (for example, software programs can’t choose appropriate categories, etc.).

Whether you decide to promote link building by submitting to article directories or by using link building directory submission services, there is no denying the importance of inbound links. If you want your site to be a success in the search engines, give one of these methods a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Teens vent on online diaries for the world to read

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

Miss Emily Butler used to keep a pen-and-paper diary. But after her mother found it, the Arlington, Virginia, teenager started pouring out her feelings online. 'When there were days when I just needed to rant, it felt good,' said Emily, 16, a second-year student at Yorktown High School who started a blog on the site Xanga a couple of years ago.

'Once I discovered, like, posting online, it definitely became, 'Why would I write it in a book?' '

Online diaries have become a well-known phenomenon in recent years, with teenagers and young adults attracted to the genre in huge numbers.

Parents, teachers and police constantly urge young people not to reveal too much about themselves online. They warn that disclosures might be read by university admissions officers and potential employers, not to mention stalkers and paedophiles. But a review of major blogging and social-networking websites shows that online diaries remain popular for teenagers, and interviews with experts and young diarists such as Emily help explain the psychology behind going public with what used to be private thoughts.

Of course, it is hard to know how many of these diary entries represent truth, fantasy or something in between.

Ms Rochelle Gurstein, author of The Repeal Of Reticence, a book about the erosion of privacy in the United States, said the blogs seem to reflect an 'unprecedented change' in teenagers' sense of modesty.

'The teenage girl that used to be the most vulnerable, protected member of society is now unsupervised, left to her own devices, with access to the Internet, and what does she do?

'Broadcasts to the whole world to see her in her most vulnerable moments.'

Many young bloggers say they do not think people other than friends are reading their journals.

Professor Gerald Goodman, professor emeritus of psychology at the University of California at Los Angeles, said young bloggers are following a deep human impulse. 'This is practically genetic, this need to be known by another human,' he said.

Emily acknowledged that relating online provides a social buffer.

But that is part of the appeal. 'Saying, like, 'Hey, do you like me?' ' she said. 'In person it would be the most awkward thing in the world.'

Breaking up online is also OK, she said. Then she reconsidered: 'Breaking up online is so sixth grade. Like, by eighth grade you should at least call them.'

Blogging Tips And Tools

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

Blogging Tips And Tools

As a business owner, You'll not want to miss out on the additional revenue you can generate by using blogs to add revenue streams to your business . Displaying Adsense ads, affiliate banners and links, and developing another source of traffic to your core business are just a few of the benefits associated with blogging. Once you have a large consistant flow of readers, selling advertising space might become a viable option. This will of course depend on your marketing skills and your ability to provide quality and useful content.

Setting up a new blog with Wordpress is pretty simple and I'm going to assume you've already registered a new domain related to your blog. As well as having a web host that uses cPanel. Using Fantastico to upload and install your new blog is really a no brainer. It will do just about everything for you and gives pretty clear cut instructions to customize the look and feel of your new blog using available Themes and Plug-Ins. I want to add that Wordpress Blogs are free and you can set-up as many as you choose. Each should have its own domain or sub domain.

Some things to consider before you begin the blog set up process.
1. What will you name your blog?
2. What will its purpose be?
3. When and how often will I update my blog?
4. How will you use it to enhance your core business?
5. Will it be seperate from your business or will it be its own business?
6. How will you announce your new blog to the world?

Many affiliate marketers use blogs as their only method of promotion rather than using conventional websites because of the ease and simplicity to update and add content without having to get into text editors and ftp programs. Their blogs are' their business.

Once your blog is set up and you've decided on a name, what your target niche will be, and will it be a stand alone project or an addition to your core business you'll want to get the word out.

Social Bookmarking sites are an effective strategy for bloggers. You can reach a wide variety of bloggers and attract an avid readership to your new blog. I've put a small list below as well as an ebook that lists many other SocialBookmarking sites.
1. tagtooga.com
2. del.icio.us
3. furl.net
4. simpy.com
5. blogmarks.net
6. shadows.com
7. spurl.net
8. netvouz.net
9. lightninghotprofits.com/SocialBookmarkRolodex.pdf
10. lightninghotprofits.com/176BlogTraffic.pdf (This contains 176 Blog Directories you can submit your blog to.)

The sites above will hasten your attracting Googles spyders to your new blog and will get you indexed faster than normal. I don't need to say how important that will be in getting targeted traffic to your blog. But I guess I just did.

You will of course want to submit your blog to the Top 10 Search engines. Doing this every 30 days or so will certainly be beneficial to a solid marketing plan.

Don't forget to consider placing some sort of contextual advertising on your main blog page. Whether it be in the form of adsense, yahoo, 7search, etc. These can bring you much needed revenue in the begining growing over time.

Whatever you decide to do with your blog I hope I've supplied you with some food for thought as well as some tools for you to get started. The Social Bookmark sites, blog directories and the Top 10 Search engine submissions will almost guarantee attracting readers to your blog and if you supply them with relevant and unique content, word of mouth can most assuredly spread like wildfire.

Good Luck with your new blog! and Happy Blogging!
