Google Image To Increase Traffic

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

Google Image

One of the way to increase traffic to your site is to make use of Google Image search. In blog, when insert photo, in the Eidt Html tag panel, you will be able to see the word, alt="". In normal circumstance, when you work on your website, the alt tag is for you to insert a title or name for the image. Mostly, we insert keyword, not too long though.
In blog, in the Edit Html panel, after you have done with the inserting of the photo, the alt="" have no word in it. What I did is to insert a keyword in between the "". For example if I insert, alt"IMAGE"
This way, when there is a google search for an image with the keyword, "IMAGE", your photo appear and this way it will increase your traffic. This is how you can use google image search to increase you blog traffic.

Blog on the Go

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

5 things to do with your mobile

From: Digital Life, 27 Nov 06

If your experience of mobile fun amounts to 1) dressing your handset up with a phone charm, 2) setting a meeting reminder, or 3) downloading a nasal, $3 ringtone of Shakira's Hips Don't Lie, you may want to try these year-end ideas for something a little different.

GET MUSICAL

Any pre-teen person will tell you that Disney characters are a perennial buzz topic. More appropriately feel-good for the season is StarHub's ongoing promotion for High School Musical, a Disney Channel Original Movie about two high school students - ock Troy (Zac Efron) and bookish Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) - who pursue their passion for singing. For the young, ringtones, wallpapers and MMS messages are going for $2.63, while Java games and themes cost $6.30. For parents, it seems an economical way to keep their children quiet so they can finish wrapping presents.

BLOG ON THE GO

Keep up with your worldwide network of friends and family - for roughly what you'd spend on stamps and cards. Until Dec 31, MobileOne is offering a 50 per cent discount off its $5.25 monthly subscription for mobile blogging and podcasting. You can take pictures and post well wishes on your blog just by sending an SMS or MMS message directly from your mobile phone. The service supports blog hosts Blogger, Friendster, LiveJournal, Movable Type, TypePad and WordPress.

PODCASTS ANY TIME

If you're planning to use your phone as an audio device, you don't have to be subject to Yuletide tunes on the radio. With content providers offering more diversity, you can now choose to stream and download podcasts - as you would on your computer. M1 customers with Nokia or Sony Ericsson 2.5G to 3G handsets can try the operator's new mobile podcast service, said to be the first of its kind here. Subscribers can choose from international and local podcasts ranging from arts to business and finance, comedy to sports, and, of course, news. The service usually costs a one-time registration fee of $10.50, plus a monthly subscription of $5.25. But to sweeten the deal, M1 is waiving registration and offering 50 per cent off three months' subscription for those who sign up before Dec 31.

VIDEO CALL TO ANYWHERE

If 3G technology had been around 20 years ago, many more long-distance relationships might have survived. Certainly, for lovebirds who must spend the official season for sappiness far apart, SingTel's video calling will be a facilitator for romance. From now until Feb 28, the service operator is offering a $30 rebate on outgoing local and IDD video calls. But before you start calling your 'bao bei' who has been out-stationed in Mongolia, do check full details of charges and terms at www.singtel.com Oh, and if you are not calling other SingTel subscribers, do find out how much it will cost them to accept your call.

FOOTBALL EVERYWHERE

Users of StarHub's cable television and mobile services: The service provider is offering constant soccer updates so you don't have to worry about taping a game or making sure no one tells you the result before you've watched it. StarHub promises 380 near-live video highlights, team news, match schedules and results on its Mobile ESPN Premiership Xtra - a service that will set you back $5.25 per month. For a truly merry Christmas, you may even win the top prize in its sign-up contest, on now until Dec 31: two tickets to watch a Premiership match live. Log on to www.starhub.com/mobile for details.

Page Rank

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

What I am doing to get a higher page rank

From my understanding, higher page rank command a higher readership. If your page is rank higher than the others, your chances of exposer will be higher. Google will index your page through a higher page rank where it has a link to your page. Having a higher page rank will make your blog more popular. Look for related site/blog with at least a PR of 5 or more. Request for a link exchange. Most of the owners will willing to, if you ask them politely.

How to know our page rank

It is simple ! You need to just download the Google toolbar, and in the options menu enable page rank. The green colour bar on the PageRank will tell you the rating of your site/blog.

It take times, but with action, we can attain the page rank we dream for.

Backup Your Work

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

It Is Important to do back-up

Last night while I was updating my blog Body Care Kits, on Template. Everything was going fine, I dont expect that suddenly the whole blog was in a mess. I can't see my posts, all below the post title were gone ! Oh my! It was at about 10 pm. I was so tired, that I decided to take a look the next day. I took a look at the template and discovered the whole chunk of HTML Code after the post title were all gone/missing. But all the previous posts are still there. So what I did is to go "Template" and "Pick New", to pick a new template. However, I select back my original template; Sand Dollar. Nevertheless, all those links and whatever, counter, geo-visitor..etc are all gone and have to redo. It definately going to take me sometime to get back to the original state. I take it positively, becasue it gives me an opportunity to make a new look for my blog. Back-up you work, by copy and paste the whole template on a note pad. If any of the misfortune happened, this back-up template will come in handy. Happy Blogging my friends !

Blogs that shine

I Want to Subscribe Journey to Blogging, Now

Blog That Shine

If you really want to soup up your blog, follow the rules of journalism
By Serene Gohs

Every minute, more blogs are born than cockroaches. Perhaps the former might even outlive the latter.
Singapore's teens aged 15 to 19 are responsible for producing at least 120,000 of these, according to a study released by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) last week.
Researchers polled 1,000 Singaporeans, and found that more than 50 per cent of those in this age group treat blogs in the same way United States' teens might their first cars - as a badge of identity.
A blog's appearance says a lot about its owner, so teens spend a lot of time doing them up in tech decor.
They use blogs to air their views. They also post art, poetry and for-sale items. They dress them with fancy skins and outrageous visuals, upload exotic vodcasts and, of course, stream-of-consciousness podcasts.
Many are carefully meta-tagged and lovingly updated - all just begging to be noticed (let's face it: however 'personal' a blog is, there's no other reason for putting it online).
And, going by the excerpts from teen blogs sent to The Straits Times' IN magazine, the level of creative invention corresponds directly to age.
The younger the blogger, the more outrageous the accessories.
In fact, if doing up blogs was an MTV series, it might be called Pimp My Blog, a spin-off of the channel's programme in which rapper Xzibit overhauls battered cars with such over-the-top elements as fengshui fountains and fake fireplaces.
But what works for cars doesn't do the trick for blogs.
Because readers trawl blogs for opinion, honesty and consumer feedback, as Digital Life reported last week, slapping on the tech icing may just backfire.
Many articles have been written in newspapers, magazines and, yes, blogs about blogging being the new journalism.
If that is indeed true, than bloggers face the same impatient readers that journalists do: No one wants to plough through a lot of dressing for a little bit of stuffing.
They are, instead, looking for blogs that make a point.
Any point.
John Joel Seow, 16, told The Straits Times he reads them for notable opinions.
The Guangyang Secondary School student said: 'I've taken a bigger interest in politics in Singapore this year. I was watching the General Election closely and I have been reading political blogs.'
Unfortunately, the case with most online entries is more as blogger Ian Poh, 19, pointed out: 'I get irritated with blogs which never finish loading because there are an endless number of pictures.'
The full-time national serviceman has kept a blog since he was 16 - one that is deliberately sparse, despite the possibility of it looking boring, because 'I think the best element is just frankness'.
Otherwise, he adds, 'the blog feels contrived, and you don't really know if you're reading fiction or about the person's life'.
So, if blogging is the new journalism, and you want to raise your blog to the next level, why not try these newsroom accessories instead of just the digital ones:
Tip #1: Keep it clear. Big words, bad news. Write short, write sweet, write right.
Tip #2: Keep it credible. If readers know you have lived what you write, they will connect with your blog.
Tip #3: Keep it clean. Resist the urge to turn your blog into a fireworks display. Or even make it too pink.
Tip #4: Get it right. No point grousing about a bad burger if you can't even get the price right.
Tip #5: Keep it original. There's only Mr Brown. And that's because Mr Brown sees life in his own unique, loopy way. Find your own voice. Don't copy. It's already been done.
Tip #6: Find a good hook. The best-loved books, articles and pop songs have a theme, a loop, something that sticks with the audience (read: Kylie Minogue's 'Na-na-na, na-nana-na' refrain from Can't Get You Out Of My Head). Try to get your blog just as addictive.
Tip #7: Entertain. W hatever you do, don't bore your reader.
